Ok, maybe it is just me, but I thought that in terms of the environment, we were all supposed to be chipping in to downsize.  I spotted this article yesterday and I had to laugh.  This is the largest cruise ship in the world and also the largest ever constructed.  Why is this necessary?  Apparently, there are a lot of people out there that have excess cash on hand and they need to take a cruise right away on the largest ship ever built.  What kind of a mess will that create?  Check out the girth of the ship:

I am a proud mother of three beautiful and happy children.  Recently, I read an article about how angry Michael Douglas was at his son.  A complaint had been filed against Cameron Douglas for drug possession and distribution.  As a parent, I couldn’t help but recognize that Douglas’ son was demonstrating the behavior of a child who didn’t get enough attention. in his youth from his father.  Imagine the anger and resentment in this young man’s soul toward his father for years of emotion neglect.  Douglas’ anger should be reflected at himself for not standing by his son as a true and loving parent.  Read for yourself:

It amazes me that with our technological advances, we are at the mercy of the universe.  At any given moment all of our shopping malls, car lots, big box stores, and mcmansions could be blown away by a passing meteor.  I can see why our society is based on fear.  We really have NO control over the future of our planet.  As a comfort, the government finds ways to spend billions of dollars on building machines and funding programs to help better predict disaster:

We recently adopted a dog from a neighbor who was going to take her to the pound.  She is one smart cookie.  Already, she is crate trained, house-trained, responds to important commands, and regularly communicates with us using her various dog sounds.  As a newbie dog owner, I will sometimes get down to her level and repeat her sounds.  Turning her head, she will look at me quizzically with great intelligence behind her eyes.  This article helped me understand why:

When my son was six weeks old, I was working as a housekeeper for a family who allowed me to bring him to work with me.  While I cleaned their home, I plopped my son in front of the Disney channel in his baby chair.  He remained there quite entertained until he became lonely or hungry.  I admit to understanding this wasn’t the best way to keep him occupied but being a working mother with a very low-income and no family availible, I didn’t have many options.  It may have been a very bad habit to get into, read why:
